Hey California: Vote No On 8

The Republican Mayor of San Diego looked into his heart and truth about enzyte found love.

A remarkable clip:

I had this moment a few years ago. We all can grow and learn. The marriage of a gay couple makes all the difference in the world to them, their friends and family. To claim such a solemn promise between two people who love each other somehow alters our moral landscape or is a threat to marriage itself is absurd. We should praise those who chose marriage and family and not let ourselves fall victim the hard bigotry of our own insecurity or the ancient confusions of religion. Whenever we have the opportunity to open our hands and let go of prejudice and condemnation we should make that choice. It isn't easy but my how it nourishes your heart.

Ah . . . The Good Old Days On Fox News

I kid you not. On their web site, they have a feature on Gennifer Flowers. (More proof I read all sides of the political world.) Having tossed every bit of nasty crap they had in the closet at Obama, now they are getting nostalgic for the good old Clinton bimbo days.

That sound you hear is the crackle of a roaring fire as the Republican spin machine goes up in flames.

Fox News: Just Making Up Polls Now

I guess giving the Republican talking p0ints verbatim isn't enough. Now, they are changing their polling sample mid-stream to cook the margin.
Fox News changed its sampling. Last week - D43, R 37 This week - D41, R39 http://courses.ttu.edu/hdfs3390-reifman/weighting.htm There is no good reason to change the weighting, they just did it and not surprisingly came out with a more favorable result for McCain.

Small variations in weighting can have proportionately large effects on the perception of a poll, t'is true.

But I'm no expert on this question, so I asked Mark Blumenthal of Pollster.com what he thought.

He tells me: "If they have been weighting by party, and they suddenly changed their weighting, I'd say it's a pretty questionable practice. The last four Fox surveys all varied slightly in terms of party ID, so I'm not sure that's what they've done. That said, if the other surveys this week show no similar "shift" in party, then it's probably reasonable to discount this result."

Seriously, turn on Fox News. Watching their heads explode as they make the case for McCain is pretty entertaining. "Tightening." Sheesh....

Greg Bowie? Sam Oden?

More reinforcement for my utter ambivalence toward the Blazers. Just another minor league team in a minor league town. I have lived in Portland for 25 years and saw them play once in the 80's. I was bored by half-time.

Move along, nothing to see here. Just another broken big guy on the bench.

Sheesh.....

Is Obama A Socialist?

McCain Says "NO."

From his interview to air tonight on Larry King Live.

KING: You don't believe Barack Obama is a socialist do you?

MCCAIN: "No, but i do believe that he has been in the far left of American politics and stated time after time that he believes in spreading the wealth around. He has talked about courts that redistribute the wealth. He has a record of voting against tax cuts. And for tax increases."

Yet ,that is what Grampy and the new step-daughter have been saying for days. I would be sad for McCain, but really, he just a lying sack of shit who has destroyed his reputation with this campaign.

Let's crush him on November 4.

Joe the Plumber: Nailed To The Wall

By Fox News. Thank you Shep Smith.

Joe is a perfect example of hour the Republican party is now reduced to a remnant of the ignorant and willfully stupid. When asked, they aren't even sure why the think what they think. After they get all of these idiots all fired up, and McCain loses, what will they do? Watch it all. Even Shep is scared of these people.

How Bad Is It?

McCain feels it necessary to run sleeze ball robocalls in . . . Arizona.

Feel free to laugh out loud.

Joe the Plumber: Never An Independent Voter

He was never an independent voter. He's a hard right, neocon true believer who today took off his "regular guy" plumber's overalls and gobbled up his 15 minutes of fame to endorse McCain and go on a bus tour. Worse yet, he's a total wing nut looking for socialist under his bed every night. He earned every bit of hard pubic scrutiny he got. No innocent victim our Joe:

In a McCain rally at a flag store, Wurzelbacher said he feared that Obama would turn the U.S. into a socialist nation.

When a McCain supporter asked him if he believed "a vote for Obama is a vote for the death of Israel," Wurzelbacher replied, "I'll go ahead and agree with you on that."

What this really means is that once again Grampy and his new step-daughter have been preaching to the choir the entire time. They keep stroking the backs of the same evangelical/political crew who were always going to vote for them anyhow. Sheesh.....

Keep your eyes on the prize folks. Where was McCain today? North Carolina. Yup, 7 days to the election and the Republican candidate is in the deep south trying to defend his natural base. Don't give a thought to what he is saying. Just pay attention to where he is saying it and savoir the moment.

7 Days. Buckle-up. All the Republicans have left is the shit wagon and they will be shoveling furiously until we nail them to the wall.

There Is No Clock In Baseball

That is my number one reason to love the game. Based on today's news, I now have another reason.

"I can't tell you tonight when we'll resume," Selig said Monday night when the suspension was announced. "We'll stay here if we have to celebrate Thanksgiving here."

If Pena had not tied it, Selig said he would not have let the Phillies win with a game that was called after six innings.

"It's not a way to end a World Series," he said. "I would not have allowed a World Series to end this way."

Everyone gets their outs at the World Series.
